An Australian man has died after falling from the fourth storey of a hotel in Bali.

The man identified only as DSJ, was found near the hotel’s pool about 8pm on Wednesday night, reports say.

It’s understood the 46-year-old had only checked into Seminyak’s Haven Hotel at 3pm that day with plans of staying until Monday.

Another guest, who was by the pool at the time, said she could hear screaming and banging on the glass from a room on the fourth floor that overlooked the pool area.

She alerted the hotel’s security, and two guards ran up to the fourth floor to the room but as they were banging on the door, they then heard the commotion around his fall, the Bali Sun reported.

Denpasar Police’s Iptu Ketut Sukadi confirmed the death in a press conference on Thursday morning.

Local police are investigating.
