A 56-year-old woman was killed after an explosion at a gender reveal party in Iowa, NBC news reported.

Local police said in a press release that they received the call about 4pm on Saturday that a woman had been seriously injured in an explosion.

However, after officers arrived, the woman was pronounced dead.

It’s understood that a piece of debris from the explosion struck the woman, killing her.

No further information has been released.

In 2018, another gender reveal party went awry a man shot at a target, which was supposed to release either a pink or blue cloud to indicate the baby’s gender.

Instead, upon being shot, the target burst into flames, starting a wildfire that ripped through nearly 47,000 acres and caused about $8 million in damages.
