In just one day, Laura Gibson lost her job, husband and house, so she packed up and started afresh in the seaside suburb of Pearl Bay. Yes, we’re talking about SeaChange.

With Sigrid Thornton at the helm, the show was a ratings success, with more than 2.4 million viewers tuning into the show’s final episode in November 2000.

Almost 20 years have passed since then, and the Aussie drama is back with original cast members Sigrid Thornton, Kerry Armstrong and John Howard, alongside some new new faces.

“I was kind of amazed, staggered,” Sigrid Thornton said, when asked about her initial thoughts on bringing back the iconic series.

“I was in a flight lounge somewhere… having a chat to Deb Cox (the creator and head writer of SeaChange) when I found out,” she revealed to Jonesy & Amanda.

You may remember the final episode of the original season ending with Laura Gibson pregnant, essentially leaving viewers with a soul-crushing cliffhanger.
