Rock the police dog has made a heroic arrest in Melbourne last night.

Police responded to reports of two men acting suspiciously, but couldn’t locate anyone just before midnight.

Rocky, being the good dog that he is, followed a track towards an unoccupied home and located two men inside.

One of the men, a 38-year-old man allegedly struck the police member to the face, causing minor injuries.

His four-legged companion pounced on the man, causing a small laceration to his left leg.

The second man, a 33-year-old, was arrested without incident.

They have both been charged with burglary and assault police and have been bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on 23 January.
