A number of well-known restaurants have been named and shamed for unhygienic food handling and roach infestations.

An exclusive Daily Telegraph investigation has compiled the top 10 Sydney suburbs with the worst food safety ratings, and the results are quite disturbing!

1. Chatswood

19 Chatswood restaurants have been fined with the worst offender being the Victoria Noodle Restaurant, which was fined six times.

2. Sydney CBD

17 Sydney CBD restaurants have been fined with the worst offender being Assamm, which was fined five times.

3. Bondi Beach

15 Bondi Beach restaurants have been fined with the worst offenders being Berri Patch Bondi and Swell Bondi, which were both fined three times.

4. Hurstville

13 Hurstville restaurants have been fined with the worst offender being Nimto, which was fined twice.

5. Bankstown

12 Bankstown restaurants have been fined with the worst offenders being The Eldridge Bistro and Chefs Dynasty Seafood Restaurant, which were both fined three times.

6. Auburn

10 Auburn restaurants have been fined with the worst offender being Meat Master, which was fined five times.

Nine Merrylands restaurants have been fined with the worst offenders being Kabul House and Phat-Ky Bakery, which were both fined four times.

Eight Lakemba restaurants have been fined with the worst offender being Banoful Restaurant and Sweets, which was fined nine times totalling almost $10,000. This is Sydney’s worst offender.
