A bus has been destroyed by fire during peak hour traffic in Sydney’s inner west.

The incident happened at Glebe Point Road near Broadway at 6pm on Monday.

Witnesses claim the bus appeared to have “exploded”.

Superintendent Luke Unsworth from Fire and Rescue NSW told SMH that the swift actions of the bus driver resulted in the evacuation of all passengers before the bus caught alight.

“Luckily there’s no one been hurt,” Superintendent Unsworth told the publication.

Investigations into the cause of the fire continue.
