A driver has parked their car on a safety ramp at the base of Mount Ousley Road in Wollongong so they could walk their dog.

Police from Illawarra Highway Patrol were driving down the notoriously dangerous road – which some have deemed the “most dangerous descent in Australia” – when they found a white Mitsubishi Mirage parked with no driver.

Police canvassed the area to locate the driver, whose welfare they were concerned about, when they discovered them walking their dog in nearby bushland.

In other words, they had deliberately parked their vehicle in the middle of the safety ramp to walk their dog.

The driver was allegedly unaware that they had done anything wrong, despite signs stating that they could not park there. They were forced to move their vehicle, and will subsequently be issued with an infringement notice.
