Troy Dewar wasted no time when he heard his van’s alarm going off at 2am, not even clothes were a consideration.

The Adelaide man woke up to his van’s alarm on Tuesday morning and, after looking outside, saw a thief helping himself to his tools.

In CCTV footage Mr Dewar posted to social media, the thief can be seen casing out the van with a torch before picking the lock on the van’s side door.

He then pulls at the door which trips the alarm to sound.

The thief then quickly starts to unload tools from the van to his car, described as a “four door black/navy blue Lancer 2003-2008 model’.

After returning to grab a few more things from the van, he takes off in the car.
