Western Sydney’s Mount Druitt Hospital has now been forced into infection control cleaning steps after the patient was admitted who test positive for COVID-19.

After arriving Saturday and testing positive on Sunday, the patient was transferred to Westmead hospital.

The Emergency Department is now temporarily closed for cleaning and ambulances are all diverting to Blanktown Hospital and surrounding areas.

The clean is expected to be completed by 9.00 am today, 11th January.
