A pack of feral pigs have sniffed out and decimated about $30,000 worth of cocaine buried by gangsters in a forest in Italy.

The drugs were hidden in jars labelled as ‘aperitif’, ‘prosecco’, ‘wine’, ‘coffee’ and ‘snack’ which were buried in a heavily wooded area in eastern Tuscany.

Local police got wind of the drama when a wire tap picked up on gang members complaining about wild boars digging up and smashing said jars.

It’s understood the pigs were making a game of it.

The lost stash was reportedly worth €20,000, equivalent to $A32,444.

All four men are facing charges of drug trafficking and are awaiting their day in court.

It’s unknown if the pigs reacted to the drugs.
