We’ve never seen a bit of rain make anyone as happy as it made these drought stricken Aussies over the weekend.
Parts of rural NSW and Queensland celebrated as rain finally fell on the parts of the state that needed it most.
There were reports of up to 40mm falling in some places, according to Yahoo! News, with many people taking to social media to share their joy.
Images and video shared to the Facebook group One Day Closer to Rain showed people of all ages dancing gleefully in the rain and jumping in puddles.
The Bureau of Meteorology was predicting up to 50mm to fall on central parts of the state including Orange, Perisher Valley and Cobar on Sunday, with slightly less in surrounding areas.
Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Canberra were predicted to see between 15 and 25mm of water, while parts of Queensland including Bundaberg, Gladstone, Rockhampton and Mackay were expecting up to 10mm.

This in no way means that the drought is over and more dry weather is expected over the Summer, but this is certainly some much needed relief for now.
