A woman has copped a $1300 fine after breaching her quarantine conditions after receiving a pack of cigarettes delivered via drone.

The woman was in isolation at the Crowne Plaza hotel on the Gold Coast where the sneaky exchange happened.

Nine News reported that on July 11, a drone was seen delivering the ciggies to the woman’s balcony by a hotel staffer, who notified police.

The drone operator may also face penalties from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority for breaching safe flying regulations.
