NSW Police are investigating after four cars were deliberately set alight in Penrith in western Sydney.

Officers have been told two males in hoodies on push-bikes were seen in the area prior to the attack about 3am on Wednesday.

It is believed an accelerant was used to set the cars alight. Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fires before a crime scene was established.

No one was injured in the incident.
