Parts of Sydney could be covered in smoke as fire crews conduct hazard reduction burns.

NSW RFS issued the alert yesterday, saying:

“Fire agencies will conduct a number of hazard reduction burns around the Sydney area on Tue 8 Sept.

“Smoke from these burns may settle across a number of suburbs on Tue night into Wed morning.

“Smoke is expected to clear early Wed with a southerly change and rain forecast.”

Burns are planned for several areas across the outskirts of the city, including The Hills, Campbelltown, Hornsby, Liverpool and Hawkesbury.
