The current coronavirus restrictions on weddings, funerals and religious services are expected to be eased in New South Wales from Monday.

According to, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian is expected to announce new rules for the services relating to the number of people that can gather together later today.

It’s believed that from June 1, up to fifty people will be allowed to gather at church services as long as social distancing measures are maintained.

Funeral services will also be allowed up to 50 people while weddings will be limited to 20 guests.

“We know how important these services are to individuals and families but as we ease restrictions further, we must remember to keep one another safe,” Ms Berejiklian said according to

“It is crucial that worshippers remember to follow health advice.

This comes after just one new case of coronavirus was recorded in NSW on Thursday, with the total number of cases in the state sitting at 3090.


There are 79 cases currently being treated by NSW Health, including one person in intensive care with a ventilator.
