The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed yet another victim.

Sydney yum cha institution Marigold, which is housed on the top two levels of the CityMark building on George Street in Chinatown, will be shutting its doors for the final time in December.

The news was announced on the restaurant’s website, stating: “We have been very privileged to have served Sydneysiders and visitors from interstate and overseas, many of whom have become our friends.

“The children and grandchildren of our customers have grown up with us and held their milestone celebrations in the restaurant. We have also served corporations and community associations, witnessing their achievements.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to our customers for your support, especially messages of encouragement received during the pandemic.”

The restaurant’s last day will be on Sunday, December 5.
