For the first time in a year, all Australian state borders are open to interstate travel without restrictions.
After WA eased their border restrictions with Victoria overnight, all travellers are allowed to freely travel around Australia without having to undergo quarantine. It is the first time since April last year that WA has had no quarantine requirements for other states and territories.
However, the new cases in Queensland and NSW might soon see the restrictions reintroduced. WA Premier Mark McGowan has said he will bring back the hard border if things escalate.
WA’s state health department on Sunday issued advice for any recent arrivals from NSW, who had visited two Sydney locations on Saturday, to get tested for COVID-19 immediately and quarantine until March 27.
