Perth has been named the friendliest city in Australia.

A survey by Big 7 Travel ranked the WA capital as #1 after their social audience of 1.5 million, were asked where they felt the most welcome.

We’re talking from how easy the city is to navigate or strangers helping you find your way, to making new best friends in a local bar, these were the things that bagged Perth the top spot.

Second place was Coffs Harbour on the NSW north coast and, in third place, was Brissie.

Melbourne came in 6th while Sydney ranked 16th.
