A man has paid $1000 for 24 rolls of Kleenex toilet paper in a charity auction in Sydney’s Double Bay.

Auctioneer Damien Cooley offered up the scarce item with bidding opening at $50.

“I couldn’t find any in the shops but luckily we had a spare pack of 24 in the office,” Cooley told the Wentworth Courier.

The winning bidder was Raine and Horne Double Bay principal Ric Serrao with all funds going towards his favourite charity ‘Kids Giving Back’.

Cooley has agreed to match the donation.
