A stranded sloth has been rescued from the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Before you ask – no, it didn’t escape from the zoo, it was simply a beloved toy belonging to journalist Julia Baird’s goddaughter, Ava.
We can all relate to Julia’s situation when she recalled the moment ‘Slothie’ fell out of their car window as they travelled across the bridge. The four-year-old was understandably distraught.
The journalist immediately tweeted about the missing toy, writing: “A large pink fluffy sloth, last seen sailing from a car window around 8pm last night, whilst entering the Harbour Bridge from the north travelling south. A long shot, but an inconsolable four year old girl is very keen to track him down. Answers to ‘Slothie'”.

Four days later, Slothie was found by none other than Transport for NSW.
For context: my 4 year old god daughter lost beloved Slothie out a car window on Sunday after dinner at my place. She was inconsolable & told her mum: "all my best wishes came true with Slothie & now they are gone forever." Four days later tow truck driver Jimmy to the rescue! 💝 https://t.co/ZLy8JGaj3G
