Not everything that you see on social media is real. You probably already know this, but it’s a point that has been driven home once again by a popular YouTuber.

Natalia Taylor posted a set of photos on her Instagram making it seems as though she was living it up in Bali. In reality, she had gone to Ikea.

The YouTuber’s photo set showing off her luxury Balinese holiday has so far attracted over 27,000 likes, although she has since come clean about the ruse.

In a video posted to her YouTube account, Natalia revealed that the photos were staged to her almost 2 million fans.

“Sometimes people want to lie about who they are”, Taylor said in a video addressing the faked photos, highlighting the ease with which influencers are able to pretend that their lives are more glamorous than reality might have you believe.
