NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has just announced that there will be a very slight ease on social distancing restrictions in the state from this Friday, May 1.
From Friday, two adults will be allowed to go and visit another household, the Premier announced during the coronavirus press conference this morning.
“Two adults will be able to go and visit anybody else in their home on the basis of care, on the basis of reducing socialisation and everybody’s mental health,” Gladys said.
“We know that for many people , they’ve been cooped up in their homes for a number of weeks, and with the exception of exercising, medical needs or buying what they need to or going to work, many people have been isolated in their homes.
“So please know that from Friday, two adults can go and visit anyone else — and I’ve used the word “adults” to say obviously if you have young children, it’s OK to take them with you.”
This comes as NSW recorded its lowest daily rise in more than seven weeks on Monday, with only two confirmed cases, taking the total to 3004.
