Most of us love a good snag. After all, Bunnings sausage sizzles and family BBQs are a typical weekend occurrence in the lives of most Aussies.

Well prepare the BBQ, because a festival dedicated to the humble sausage sizzle is on it’s way to NSW!

Fancy a road trip? The Festival of the Snags is on its way to the regional food and wine region, Mudgee for a one-day event dedicated to the official dish of the nation.

The event is completely FREE and there’s tons of weird and whacky sausage themed events to see and do on the day.

There’s sausage eating competitions, sausage making competitions and a Game of Snags arena, where you can battle with oversized sausages, sausage tossing competitions to snag a Wotif holiday and larger than life team races riding inflatable sausages.

There will be plenty of delicious sausages up for tasting in Australia’s Meatpackers District as well as gourmet food and wine on offer from Mudgee’s famous and award-winning wineries and producers.

Live music will be played throughout the day including a special performance by party band Furnace and the Fundamentals.

To keep the kiddies entertained there will also be a Kids Zone, appropriately titled Chipolatas and a fireworks display to finish off the night!

It’s all going down on Saturday November 30 at Mudgee Showground from 12pm. Looks like we’ll be booking in a weekend away in Mudgee!
