A new study from Iowa State University reckon they’ve found a specific hormone that’s linked to a reduced likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Basically, the more you activate and release this hormone through the foods you’re eating, the more your memory, seems to benefit.

Broccoli is a source of two crucial nutrients that help improve long-term brain function, including vitamins B and E and vitamin K.

Chia seeds

Zinc and magnesium deficiencies have been linked to some neurological conditions, and that a lack of iron can cause that dreaded brain fog you might get from time to time. Lots of different types of seeds are packed with these nutrients, but chia seeds, specifically, are one of the best options.



Googs contain a combination of vitamins and omega 3s, which are egggcellent for your brain.


These guys are a rich source of polyphenols, which slow down the aging process and combat cell damage in the brain. In fact, blueberries don’t simply improve memory – they can actually reverse memory loss.



The idea here is that protein is key for memory loss and brain function, so other forms of lean protein work too, like nuts or beans.

Dark chocolate

Hells. Yes.


Cocoa can improve cognitive function and eating a daily portion of dark chocolate has been found to improve blood flow to the brain. I don’t need to be told twice.
