A South Australian mother received a note from her 3 year old’s kindergarten, suggesting she choose healthier options in the future.

A family friend posted the note to Facebook last week for the world to see.

She explained that the parents of this family, with eight children, both have degrees in health science, and regularly made all foods for their children from scratch, serving up fresh and healthy food every day.

In the Facebook post Ms Reist goes on to say that “Treating foods as ‘good’ and ‘bad’ contributes to eating disorders”.

“Parents are telling me their children are being shamed at school for having treats in their lunchbox and are taking that shame home, impacting their ability to enjoy a range of foods.”

What do you think about schools sending notes like this one home to parents?
