Australia’s favourite vet, Dr. Chris Brown, is hosting ‘Koala Help’ from the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital as part of World Environment Day.

The world premiere of the virtual school excursion for adults and kids alike will give you front row seats as one of the hospital’s bushfire-affected koalas is released to the wild.

Dr. Chris Brown joined Jonesy & Amanda to chat about the exciting new initiative, and answered the question we’ve all been asking – is it safe for our koalas to be released back to the wild?

“Since the fires, we’ve had a decent amount of rain and the reemergence of the bush has been quite impressive, so we’ve been waiting this long to release them.

“Their extended family unit is there, and the koala breeding season is in August… the priority is for them to breed.”

You can join Chris on the NRMA Insurance Facebook page on June 5th at 4pm for the exciting experience. Mark the date in your diary now!
