Inspirational, incredible, strong – these are just three words that come to mind when we think of Turia Pitt.

Back in 2011, Turia Pitt was caught in a grassfire in a Kimberley Gorge when she received burns to 60% of her body. The process of recovering from her injuries was long, tedious and strenuous, but she never gave up.

Nine years later, the 33-year-old continues to inspire people across the world with her determination and will to live life to the fullest. So much so that she’s published a book, Happy (and Other Ridiculous Aspirations).

While there’s many ways to describe Turia’s recovery, she refuses to hear people say, ‘What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’.
