A pet snake has undergone life-saving surgery after gobbling up a heckin’ beach towel.
Monty Python (best name ever) presented to the Avian and Exotics Department at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital after she was spotted eating an entire towel the night before.
Vets used a flexible endoscope down the 18-year-old Jungle Carpet Python’s mouth to see where the end of the towel was in her stomach.
“Very long forceps were placed through the endoscope and used to grasp the towel,” the SASH team wrote on Facebook.
“Once we had a good grip, the towel was able to be carefully removed from the gastrointestinal tract with endoscopic guidance.
“It was smiles all round and we’re happy to report that both Monty and the beach towel have lived to see another day!”
It was reported that Monty was discharged from hospital the same day and her owner says she is back to her happy, hungry self.
