The mercury’s on the rise which means a lot of us are on the hunt for some new cooling systems in the house.

Thankfully Choice has your back, running some tests to see which products are the real deal, and which ones are a stitch up.

Their testing found that a $89 40cm pedestal fan outperforms a Dyson’s $800 tower fan.

Kmart’s Anko fan beat the Dyson Cool Tower on airflow and noise level and also boasts eight-speed settings, WiFi app control, a nine-hour timer and digital display.

Choice home expert Rebecca Ciaramidaro said:

“We find that if you’re just looking for something to circulate air and create a cooling breeze, the Dyson fans aren’t worth the extra cash,” she said.
