You’d think it would’ve rolled out with the latest iOS update, but Apple are working on how you’ll be able to unlock your iPhone while wearing a mask.
Just a week after iOS 14.4, developers are already in Beta mode with iOS 14.5 which includes the handy feature… buuuuut, for now, it’s only for those with an Apple Watch. Great.
In settings, users need to authenticate their Apple Watch to unlock their iPhone.
Once connected, the watch needs to be nearby and unlocked via its own passcode for the feature to work, meaning users won’t have to remove their mask every time they want to access their iPhone with Face ID.
For the rest of us, we just need to pull the mask down for a brief second – or just take two seconds to enter the passcode.
