Sydney Lunar Festival is the biggest celebration of Lunar New Year outside of Asia with more than 100 exciting events and experiences that reflect Sydney’s cultural diversity, artistic talent and community spirit.

Lunar Lanes – Haymarket Sat 25 Jan 5pm-10pm
Head to Haymarket on Lunar New Year’s Day for the Lunar Lanes street party. Enjoy live performances, games, craft activities, feasting and be first to see two gigantic gold rat robots from this year’s hero Lunar Lantern.
Lunar Lanterns – Circular Quay Fri 31 Jan-Sun 9 Feb
Take a short stroll around Circular Quay to discover 12 larger-than-life animal signs of the Lunar zodiac. Find your zodiac among the Lunar Lanterns including a spectacular tower of nine gold metallic rats by Claudia Chan Shaw to celebrate the Year of the Rat.

Dragon Boat Racing – Cockle Bay Sat 1 Feb-Sun 2 Feb
See thousands of paddlers churn the waters of Cockle Bay at the biggest Dragon Boat regatta in the southern hemisphere. It all begins with a traditional blessing by Taoist monks and an eye dotting ceremony said to awaken the dragons.
