The storyline may sound silly but after watching the trailer (above) we could not be more excited for a movie!
Slumdog millionaire director Danny Boyle has teamed up with Love Actually writer RichARD CURTIs, then added music by The Beatles and come up with ‘Yesterday’, one of the year’s most anticipated movies.
The story sounds far fetched by just go with us here…
Himesh Patel stars as Jack, an aspiring singer-songwriter who survives a bus accident during a freak global blackout and wakes up in a world where The Beatles never existed.
But Jack still knows all the Beatles’ great songs even after crossing over to this bizarre alternate universe, and by passing them off as his own, becomes a worldwide mega-star.
It’s described as a romantic comedy with Jack being at risk of losing his childhood best friend, Ellie, played by Lily James.
James Corden has a prominent part and pop star Ed Sheeran even has a role in it. He is seen in the trailer advocating for a change from ‘Hey Jude’ to ‘Hey Dude’!
Shot in Suffolk in England, 6,000 extras were used to make the live performances very realistic.
We also see that the two living Beatles, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, are listed as playing themselves in the movie.
If the movie can live up to the 3mins we’re seeing in the trailer it will be amazing. Either way, the soundtrack should be worth the ticket price.
‘Yesterday’ is due to hit cinemas on 28 June.
