Caitlyn Jenner made headlines this week when her beautiful Vanity Fair cover was unveiled, along with her new chosen name.

We’ve already discussed her decision not to spell her name with a K, like her Kardashian family members – but where did the name Caitlyn come from?

The 65-year-old told Vanity Fair that she had been watching the Miss America pageant over the last few years to come up with ideas for names.

“It’s one of the hardest things in life—choosing your own name,” she said.

She was considering the names Cathy, Heather and Caitlyn, and made her decision when her assistant, Rhonda, independently suggested Caitlyn.

We think it suits her perfectly!
