Seems an A-list celeb could have graced our scenes much earlier than he did.
Jake Gyllenhaal was offered a role in The Mighty Ducks Trilogy and despite his protests, his parents refused to let him reprise the role.
His parents Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner didn’t let him accept the gig… prompting him to burst into tears!
“I definitely remember crying on the kitchen counter,” Gyllenhaal told Howard Stern.
“I was like, ‘You guys are crazy.'”
It seems time has allowed his wounds to heal and understands where his parents were coming from, prioritising his schoolwork first.
But could you imagine a cute little Jake quacking running havoc on the ice?
“My parents were like, ‘Look, you’re about to enter junior high school, you gotta get your education, that’s the most important thing,” Gyllenhaal said.
“I promise you, you hate us now, but you’ll thank us later.'”
“And I do.”
Gyllenhaal still made his way onto the big screen and for that we will be forever grateful!
Just for old time’s sake, let’s look back at the old classic… Would the movie have been the same with a different cast?
