Sorry but who cares about footy now that we’ve discovered that Netflix has a show called The Floor Is Lava.

Ever since we were kids, we know that when someone says ‘the floor is lava’, the floor is fricken piping hot liquid rock and you’d better not be touching it.

Instead, you need to be climbing up, jumping on or walking across anything that isn’t the ground. Kind of a loungeroom parkour.

Each episode features two or three teams made up of three players. The course is made up of kooky themed stuff, like outer space elements, museum artefacts or bedroom furniture.

The players have to make it through the course, from one door to another, by stepping, jumping and swinging on the various obstacles, all while the ‘lava’ (really, red-coloured slime) churns, making everything slippery.

Each player who gets across earns one point. The team with the most points (or the fastest time, in the event of a tie) wins the $10,000 prize.

In the US, Floor is Lava spent the entire weekend in the No. 1 spot on Netflix’s Top 10.
