Mindhunter’s audience was never huge, but we are irrationally invested for a show which aired for only two seasons.
Starring Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv as agents who launch a task force, which would end up being the actual profiling department of the FBI, to interview serial killers as a way of understanding them, debuted on Netflix in 2017.
Just when we started to slowly accept that a third season was on ice indefinitely, creator David Fincher would play with us by saying stuff like he’s not giving up on it.
“I don’t know if it makes sense to continue,” he previously said. “It was an expensive show. It had a very passionate audience, but we never got the numbers that justified the cost.”
Now, we’re hearing that it might be going ahead after all after it was revealed that Fincher is apparently ‘chatting’ to Netflix again.
Bring it on!
