Tom Petty has a new single called “Somewhere Under Heaven” that was released on Tuesday.  The tune actually was recorded in 1992, and will appear on an upcoming album titled Wildflowers – All the Rest, which is made up of unreleased archival tracks from the sessions that yielded Petty’s 1994 solo album Wildflowers.

“Somewhere Under Heaven,” which was co-written by Tom and Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell, also can be heard during the end credits of the new Entourage film, in cinemas now.  You can purchase the track now as a digital download at a variety of online music stores, and you can check out a clip of the song at Petty’s official YouTube channel.

Wildflowers – All the Rest will feature songs Petty recorded from 1992 to 1994 that initially had been intended for the Rick Rubin-produced Wildflowers, which originally had been envisioned as a double album.  No word yet on when the record will be released.
