From Capote to Frida and Walk The Line, biopics are ratings gold in Hollywood so there’s no wonder why one about legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan would be on the way. But, which young actor has the talent and persona to play the iconic character?
According to Deadline, actor Timothée Chalamet is in discussions to play Dylan in the upcoming film reportedly titled “Going Electric”.
The upcoming biopic, to be directed by Walk The Line and Ford v. Ferrari’s James Mangold, will see 24-year-old Chalamet play a young Bob Dylan at the point in his life when he elected to pursue rock music over folk. Dylan is reportedly “actively involved” with Mangold and production company Fox Searchlight on the film.
While there’s been reports that Chalamet has begun taking guitar lessons to prepare for the role, it’s unknown whether he will sing as well.
