While we’re still recovering from the emotional rollercoaster that was Avenger’s Endgame (we will always love you 3000 Iron Man) Marvel is moving on to it’s next big project.
The fourth instalment to the Thor series has been confirmed, titled ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’, and it seems that it comes with one massive twist!
Natalie Portman, who is known in the marvel series for playing Chris Hemsworth’s character Thor’s love interest, Jane Foster, has been announced to play the first ever female Thor in the film!

The announcement came during the 2019 San Diego Comic Con as Natalie held up a prop version of the hammer, which can usually only be held by the God of Thunder, saying, “I’ve always had a little hammer envy.”
According to the 2014 comics, the plot will see Thor become too weak and unworthy to hold the hammer and so the female version of Thor, the ‘Goddess of Thunder’ must take his place.
Enter Natalie Portman! And while we thought we’d seen it all happen to Thor since seeing a fat and alcoholic version of him in Endgame, we clearly spoke too soon!
Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on November 5, 2021 so we’ve still got a bit of waiting to do before we can see this masterpiece but we already can’t wait!
