With bans on public gatherings having well and truly taken hold in the US, one aquarium has taken the lack of people to produce some very cute content.
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has taken the opportunity to give two of its penguins a full tour of the aquarium, AND IT IS ADORABLE!
Edward and Annie are a bonded pair of rockhopper penguins (and by bonded, we mean that they’re a couple, shacked up in their own self-isolation for nesting season).
The adventure continues! 🐧🐧
This morning, Edward and Annie explored Shedd’s rotunda. They are a bonded pair of rockhopper penguins, which means they are together for nesting season. Springtime is nesting season for penguins at Shedd, and this year is no different! (1/3) 👇 pic.twitter.com/VdxN3oQAfe— Shedd Aquarium (@shedd_aquarium) March 16, 2020
The pair have so far taken a closer look at the reception desk and a whole lot of fish, which no doubt look like a seafood buffet to the birds.
While this may be a strange time for us, these days feel normal for animals at Shedd. Our caregivers are constantly providing new experiences for the animals to explore and express their natural behaviors with. Let us know what penguin activities you would like to see!
