Netflix’s The Witcher has been a huge success, and deservedly so. Sweeping fantasy fans into the complex world from author Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels, Henry Cavill brought the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia to life in a way that’s amazed fans of both the books and video games. With a strong supporting cast and the hard work of showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich, the show has become one of the biggest Netflix shows ever.

Not long after the release of the first season and the confirmation of season two, Netflix has announced that Studio Mir, the team behind the animated series The Legend of Korra will be bringing the world of Geralt to life in animation for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

The main Witcher season reportedly hit 76 million households over its first season, a monumental number considering Game of Thrones pulled in less than half of that on its initial HBO release (though that’s not an apples to apples comparison given the growth of streaming in the interim).

Filming for the show’s second season is supposed to start this February, with Hissrich saying that the “building blocks” from season 1 will have huge impacts as “different kingdoms that you just barely hear about in season 1, start rising to the surface in season 2”.

You can catch all of the first season on Netflix.
