Have you got some tissues? You’re going to need them for this.
In the most recent episode of The Voice, Delta Goodrem tackled the theme of ‘survivors’ with her contestants, who have all experienced some sort of hardship in their lives.
Natasha Stuart has just finished 20 weeks of gruelling chemotherapy after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year, Emma Sophina survived the Hudson river plane crash, and Kimberley Bowden’s father died from a shock heart attack 18 months ago.
“I feel like survivors stand together and I would like to get up there and play piano with them,” Delta said, explaining her decision to join the trio on stage.
It was Natasha’s moving performance that left Kelly Rowland, Guy Sebastian and Boy George in tears.
Unfortunately, only one contestant could be selected to move forward in the competition, and that was the inspirational Natasha. But, she couldn’t help breaking down in tears as she farewelled Emma and Kimberley.
Delta can relate to Natasha’s tough battle, having been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma at the age of 18.
“Wow, to be able to share this moment with these three women. I can’t even begin to describe it,” she tweeted.
