This season of The Voice really has been an emotional rollercoaster so far.

We’ve had moments of pure happiness, competitive arguments between the coaches, and last night we saw one of the most heart-wrenching moments that left barely a dry eye in the building.

The emotional moment came during Tuesday night’s battle on team Delta between The Koi Boys and Daniel Shaw.

The boys sang a rendition of ‘Let It Be’ by the Beatles and dedicated the performance to the victims of the Christchurch terror attack, which was particularly close to home for New Zealand natives, The Koi Boys.

“Its a pretty dark place right now in the world in light of what’s happened back home in New Zealand. The absolute tragedy there in Christchurch,” said Danny from the Koi Boys before the battle began.

The Koi Boys also revealed that they had actually been in Christchurch during the time of the attack to perform a show.

“We were about to do a show and the song we were doing was What a Wonderful World,” Danny revealed.

The spine-tingling performance brought the coaches to tears, with Kelly Rowland and Delta Goodrem left speechless.

“As you were about to sing, I could hear you guys sobbing and then you have to sing a song which is why… It’s why we sing. Because it’s still a wonderful world,” Guy Sebastian said while choking up.

“It’s a reminder that there’s more love in the world than there is hate and we should always remember that,” Boy George added.

It was almost forgotten that this performance was actually a battle and that Delta now had to choose one of the performers to continue through the competition with her.

The weight of the decision clearly impacted Delta and she needed to walk off set to take a moment for herself and regain her composure. The ‘Wings’ singer was shown crying backstage as producers tried to console her.

“I just feel really… I feel really unwell. I’m just not sure how to kind of have that conversation,” Delta said. “I just don’t want to upset any of them, you know.”

Delta eventually returned to the stage and made the tough decision, choosing to take Daniel through to the live shows.

But it wasn’t completely the end of the line for the Koi Boys after Delta actually offered them a place on her upcoming tour.
