The spectacularly catty ladies of the Real Housewives of Melbourne are returning in 2020 after a two-year hiatus.
RHOM first aired in 2014 and gave international viewers an insight into the lives of our very own “real” housewives.
Season 4 of the show starred Melbournites Lydia Schiavello, Jackie Gillies, Gamble Breaux, Janet Roach, Gina Liano, Venus Behbahani-Clarkand and Sally Bloomfield.
None of the current cast have officially been confirmed for the new season but we can kinda work it out thanks to the recently released clue on the RHOM Instagram account:
“Some of the women have already been told unofficially that they’ll be returning, so they’ve been doing everything to make sure they’re camera-ready”, an insider told the Daily Mail back in June.
Fan favourites “Jackie Gillies, Gamble Breaux and Janet Roach will most likely be back too, but everyone else is on the chopping block,” the insider shared.
The source continued, “they’ve been interviewing plenty of potential new Housewives, and are even considering bringing back some old faces like Chyka Keebaugh or Pettifleur Berenger.”
Foxtel’s Executive Director of Television, Brian Walsh, confirmed that after the lacklustre Real Housewives of Sydney wasn’t received as well as Mlebourne, another Sydney season “won’t happen again… once bitten, twice shy” he noted.
“Housewives remains an important franchise but we have to be convinced the narrative is there to take it forward,” he said.
Psychic Jackie Gillies was quick to share the exciting news on her social media:
We’re just hoping our #1 housewife Gina doesn’t get the axe!
