The Greatest Showman shocked critics following it’s release in 2017 after it raked in a whopping $430 million in the box office and secured millions of fans around the world.

But it seems that the success doesn’t stop there and the people behind the film look like they’re gearing up to create an even GREATER show. And we couldn’t be more excited about it!

Following his STELLAR performance of ‘The Greatest Show’ at the Brit Awards, it has been announced that Hugh Jackman is currently involved in developing a sequel film for the 2017 hit The Greatest Showman with the film’s director.

The news was confirmed by director Michael Gracey as he was chatting with The Sun in London ahead Jackman’s performance at the Brits.

“When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel,” he said. “So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now.”

Gracey also told reporters that the original film had been a difficult project to get off the ground during the production stage and that some backers had “huge doubts” about it’s success.

“There were huge doubts about it for a very long time and some backers withdrew their money,” he said.

But after it’s release, the film’s success absolutely skyrocketed and as a result Gracey and Jackman are currently able to initiate the process of creating a second film.

The appearance of the film’s other stars, including Zac Efron and Zendaya have not been confirmed as of yet but we have our fingers crossed that they will return! We need another Zac/Hugh duet in our lives.

However, the original film’s songwriters will reportedly return meaning we’ve definitely go some more hit tunes on the way.

No word yet on what the film will be about or when it could actually start production but we honestly can’t WAIT for it!

If you need us for the rest of the day we’ll be watching Zac and Zendaya performing ‘Rewrite The Stars’ on repeat.
