The AFL has finally announced its pre-game entertainment… The Black Eyed Peas!
The band, consisting of members will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo, are returning to Australia for the first time since 2009 with their new single ‘Big Love’.
“Australia! We are honoured to be heading to Melbourne to perform at the AFL Grand Final Day,” the band said in a statement.
“This is the biggest day in Australian sport, so we will be pulling out all the stops for this special performance. See you soon!”
The Black Eyed Peas, who will also be joined by Jimmy Barnes and Diesel, will perform in front of 100,000 footy fans at the MCG before the first bounce at this year’s big decider on Saturday, 29th September.

Unfortunately, the performance will not include Fergie, who exited the group last year.
In contrast, the NRL has booked Aussie band Gang of Youths to headline their 2018 Grand Final.
