The Beatles played their last ever concert (not counting their Apple Records rooftop appearance in 1969) in their native England when they perform at a show put on by the New Musical Express on this day in 1966. 

1966 was a watershed year for the band after they released the ground breaking album Revolver, and deciding to retire from touring and concentrate on recording in the studio.
