Bruce Springsteen helped Jon Stewart end his 16-year run as Daily Show host in the U.S. Thursday night.

Springsteen and the E Street Band performed two songs in what Stewart called “my moment of Zen.” The group played “Land Of Hope And Dreams” before launching into “Born to Run.”

Moments earlier, Stewart, who, like Springsteen, is a resident of New Jersey, expressed how much he admires The Boss describing his career as an ongoing dialogue with fans. He elaborated, “Nothing ends. It’s just a continuation, it’s a pause in the conversation.

“Rather than saying ‘goodbye’ or ‘good night,’ I’m just going to say, I’m going to go get a drink, and I’m sure I’ll see you guys before I leave,” he added.
