Ricky Gervais has shared his thoughts on other celebs complaining about being in lockdown, and it’s fair to say that he is not sympathetic to their plight.
The comedian says that instead of complaining about being stuck inside houses to keep safe, people should be lining up to thank healthcare workers.
“These people are doing 14-hour shifts and not complaining,” Gervais said of those working in hospitals.
“But then I see someone complaining about being in a mansion with a swimming pool and, you know, honestly, I just don’t want to hear it.”
The comments are thought to be a criticism of English singer Sam Smith, who shared a series of photos on Instagram from their $23 million house with the caption “stages of a quarantine meltdown.”
The post garnered the attention of professional sh*t-stirrer Piers Morgan, who labelled the singer’s post as “attention-seeking bullsh*t.”
I agree with @rickygervais in today’s papers, saying how stupid it is when celebrities living in expensive houses start moaning about being isolated. Just think about all those front line workers. Well said Ricky. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/s71F9MtOge
