Following numerous rumours of a return all year, it now looks like Karl Stefanovic could actually be waking up with Today once again, one year after he was sensationally dumped from the breakfast TV program.
According to The Australian, Nine’s Chief Executive Hugh Marks reportedly wants to bring Stefanovic back on to host the show in a bid to save it from poor ratings.
On December 19 last year it was announced that Stefanovic would not be returning to the Today Show after more than 14-years as co-host.
He was instead replaced by Deborah Knight and Georgie Gardner.
But now it seems that 2020 could bring a new Today Show team once again, with reports that Karl would appear alongside 60 Minutes reporter Allison Langdon.
Although it’s believed that Stefanovic would have to take a bit of a pay cut if he were to make the return.
If he declines the offer to return, The Australian reports that the job will likely be offered to Ben Fordham or David Campbell.
This comes a day after a report surfaced claiming that Today Extra’s Sonia Kruger could be leaving for a million dollar contract with Seven.
